A little planning goes a long way towards a relaxing escape. Here’s everything you need to know before your stay at Whispering Valley.
Bookings & Payments
What is the cancellation policy?
Whispering Valley has different cancellation policies for high and low season.
High season (April–October): Bookings are fully refundable until 14 days before arrival. At that point, they become non-refundable and full payment is automatically charged to your card.
Low season (November–March): Bookings are fully refundable until 7 days before arrival, when they become non-refundable and full payment is charged.
No-shows and early departures: Charged at 100% of the reservation amount.
Do I need to pay a deposit when booking direct?
No deposit is required for direct bookings. Your full reservation amount is charged when the free-cancellation period ends, and a receipt is emailed to you. If you book after the free-cancellation deadline, payment is taken at the time of booking.
Our Cottages
Which cottages are suitable for families?
Our two-bedroom cottages — Rosegum, Watergum and Tallowood — are suitable for couples and families, with extra room to relax.
Are the cottages self-contained?
Yes. Our cottages are self-contained, with cooking facilities including an espresso machine, air fryer, microwave, gas cooktop and BBQ.
What essentials are provided in the cottages?
Cottages are stocked with useful everyday essentials, including cooking utensils, basic pantry items, cleaning supplies and bathroom products. If you need something specific, please contact us before your stay.
Do all cottages have a fireplace?
Yes. Every cottage has its own wood-burning fireplace, with firewood and fire-making tools provided.
Do all cottages have a spa bath?

Your Stay
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged depending on availability.
Are pets allowed?
To help protect our wildlife, Whispering Valley is a pet-free property.
Is there mobile phone reception and Wi-Fi?
Telstra generally has good mobile reception, while other networks can be less reliable. There is no Wi-Fi in the cottages, but Wi-Fi is available at reception if needed.
Is breakfast included?
Accommodation rates are room-only. A breakfast hamper can be requested for an additional $95, with enough for two people over two days. It includes items such as bacon, eggs, bread, milk, granola, yoghurt, berries, condiments and juice.
Getting Here & Accessibility
Is Whispering Valley suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Parking is available beside each cottage, but none of the cottages is wheelchair accessible. Sally Wattle has no stairs at the entrance, although there are internal stairs because of its mezzanine layout. Please contact us to discuss your needs before booking.
Where is the nearest supermarket?
Maleny is approximately 15 minutes away by car and has supermarkets and shops for groceries and other essentials. We recommend picking up supplies before settling into your cottage.
Families & Children
Are children and babies welcome?
Yes, families are welcome in suitable two-bedroom cottages, including Rosegum, Watergum and Tallowood. Cots and highchairs are available on request at no extra charge. Our studio cottages are designed for two adults.
