As a small business owner, we love supporting fellow Queensland businesses — and our visit to Maleny Bird World was truly one of the best experiences we’ve had. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and it was heartwarming to see so many animals finding refuge here. Many have been rehomed to Maleny Bird World, and you can tell they’re cared for with genuine love in such a beautiful sanctuary. Take the best seat to watch peak of the Aquarius meteor shower - the deck of your whispering valley cottage!! ✅ No Light pollution When:
The peak of the Eta Aquarids meteor shower is on the morning of May 7, 2025, with the best viewing time around 2 am to 4 am.
Where to look:
Look towards the east, just above the horizon. The meteors will appear to radiate from the constellation Aquarius.
Best viewing conditions:
Find a location away from city lights and other light pollution to get the best view of the sky.- that would be Whispering Valley 😉
What to expect:
You should be able to see bright flashes or streaks of light across the night sky. Fast meteors may leave "glowing trains" that can be visible for several seconds to minutes.

Mother’s Day holds deep meaning for us.
Seven years ago, on this very day, our lives changed forever. We had been blessed with our only child Alex who was 11. Then after years of PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis and loss, we were naturally blessed at age 43, on Mother’s Day, we found out we were pregnant!!!! That baby was Dusty.

When we bought Whispering Valley, the previous owner smiled and said, “This land is fertile—I had babies at 43 and 46.” I laughed… but maybe there was something in the air, in the soil, in the magic of this place. Because soon after, Dusty arrived.

Since then, we’ve heard story after story of guests returning home from Whispering Valley with a little surprise on the way. So maybe it’s more than just a getaway—it’s a healing space, a nurturing space. A place where hearts and hopes find room to breathe.

This Mother’s Day we celebrate all mothers.
Those who carried, those who raised, those still waiting and trying.
